Out of the maze

A square grid of squares with a red heart in the middle one. Dotted arrows leave the heart in all eight directions, like the spokes of a wheel, showing the jumps you can make in the number maze.

This number maze is one of the most famous puzzles ever printed. You start on the heart in the centre.

Every square tells you how far to jump. From the heart, jump 3 squares in a straight line: up, down, left, right or diagonally. You land on a number. Jump that many squares, in any of the eight directions, and keep going.

You escape when a jump carries you exactly one square past the edge of the board. A jump that would go further than that is not allowed.

Find a way out of the maze.

Tap one of the eight arrows to jump. You can undo a jump or start again at any time.
